The many meanings of art
The next time that you visit your friends or family members, take a look on their walls or around on their tables. They will each have their own form of art around their house. If you did not pay attention to it before, take a look now. See what you can tell about each of them
If what you see is not exactly appealing to you, it is Ok. Art is a personal form and while one piece may be appreciated by one person, another might not find it attractive at all. A person's likes and dislikes in art are extremely personal and original.
Have you ever been into an art museum? Art museums are a good example of many different forms of art. As you walk through a museum you will see art in the form of paintings and photographs. You will also see art in the form of statues and abstract works made in metal of all sorts or in wood or ribbons. The abstracts can be made of anything, including food!
Have you ever seen someone who has pictures of dead trees hung on their walls or setting on their desks at work? Dead trees are often found to be very beautiful and to those people, displaying them is showing everyone how beautiful they are. In this case and many others, beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.
When an artist completes a project, they are very sure that this work of art will be appreciated by most. They believe that their art is ready to be displayed in the most exclusive art gallery around. A lot of cities hold festivals just to honor and display the works of local artists.
A gallery hop is a good example of a festival thrown for the artists of the area. When a gallery hop is put on, local business will
turn the fronts and sometimes insides of their buildings into a display of wonderful art. Many of the wonderful pieces are for sale by the local artists. The streets can be filled with music and smiling faces. People truly enjoy themselves at a gallery hop.
The people that attend a gallery hop are down to earth people out to have a good time and be moved by the artwork. The gallery hop is truly a festival of creativity and fun. Local artists display their works of art with pride and enjoy hearing and watching people admire their creations. Looking at artwork and enjoying a few drinks, good music, and good friends is an excellent idea for a night out.
Art really moves people. It can bring people together that would normally not have the opportunity to speak to each other. Something as simple as a picture of a sunrise can be enough of an inspiration to bring two complete strangers into a conversation with each other. It could lead to the start of an excellent friendship or more.
Another very popular and moving form of art is music. Music comes in all forms as well as art. A music concert can lead perfect strangers into a world of peace and harmony even if only for a second. Many different types of people can find a commonality in music.
Our choices in art reflect our personalities and feelings. Complete strangers can become suddenly more familiar just by looking at the art that they display at work on or on the wall at their business. You may even discover that the person that you thought you knew so well has another level that you have yet to discover.
